SEIKO Unveils New Boutique at The Exchange TRX to Mark 100th Anniversary

In a celebration of timeless craftsmanship and innovation, SEIKO, one of the world’s most esteemed watch brands, marked the grand opening of its latest boutique at The Exchange TRX in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. This milestone not only celebrates SEIKO’s 100th anniversary since the introduction of its first wristwatch but also ushers in a new chapter in the brand’s storied history.

The new boutique stands as Malaysia’s premier location showcasing SEIKO’s most distinguished collections, including King Seiko, Astron, Presage, Prospex, and Seiko 5 Sports. These iconic collections reflect SEIKO’s enduring commitment to excellence, precision, and innovation, catering to both watch enthusiasts and collectors alike. The boutique promises to enhance the shopping experience for timepiece aficionados and sets a new standard for quality and reliability in Malaysia’s watch market.

The grand opening was further highlighted by the presence of Seiko Watch Corporation President Mr. Akio Naito, who flew in from Japan to officiate the event. Key figures from SEIKO Watch Corporation, including Mr. Yoshikatsu Kawada, Director & Senior Executive Vice President, and Mr. Yukiaki Suganuma, Vice President, were also in attendance. Additionally, Mr. Joshua Wong, Vice Chairman of Thong Sia Group, joined the festivities, along with a special appearance by Welson Sim, Malaysia’s two-time Olympian and SEIKO Prospex Brand Friend.

To commemorate this significant occasion, SEIKO unveiled the Power Design Project Exhibition 2024, marking its debut in Malaysia. Under the theme “Incredibly Specialized Watches,” this year’s exhibition presents seven unique conceptual designs that embody SEIKO’s pioneering spirit and technological prowess. Mr. Yu Ishihara, SEIKO’s Design Director of the Design Development Team, provided an insightful look into the creative process behind these designs, captivating attendees with his vision.

The Power Design Project Exhibition 2024 provides a rare opportunity for visitors to delve into the artistic and contemporary elements that define SEIKO’s global leadership in watchmaking. Located at The Exchange TRX’s Concourse, Ground Floor, the exhibition is open to the public until August 11, 2024, offering an exclusive glimpse into SEIKO’s innovative designs.
