In Malaysia, festive seasons are always something to look forward to. From colourful lights to beautifully crafted cultural displays, one thing many Malaysians love doing is checking out the mall decorations that arrive with every celebration. As Hari Raya Aidilfitri approaches, shopping centres across the country transform into vibrant festive spaces — and this year, 1 Utama Shopping Centre is bringing a charming kampung-inspired celebration with Indahnya Syawal, happening from 27 February to 29 March 2026.

A Kampung Raya Experience in the City

Visitors stepping into the mall will find themselves transported into Kampung Indah Syawal, a beautifully designed festive installation located at LG Oval and GF Centre Court. The highlight is a stunning two-storey traditional Malay home, thoughtfully adorned with the intricate textures of songket, one of the most treasured fabrics in Malay heritage.

The display blends traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design, creating a warm and nostalgic kampung setting right in the middle of the city. It’s the perfect spot to stroll through, admire the details of traditional art, and of course, capture some memorable Raya photos.

At the centre of it all stands the Pentas Tanjak Warisan, an eye-catching stage inspired by the elegant tanjak, the traditional Malay headgear often associated with royalty and heritage. Positioned at the LG Oval Concourse, this cultural centrepiece becomes the heart of the celebration, hosting performances and festive activities throughout the campaign.

Music, Performances & Special Appearances

The festive celebration also comes alive with vibrant performances and live music. Fans can catch rising Malaysian M-pop boy group ALPHA performing live on 28 February at 2PM, bringing energetic pop vibes to the festive stage.

Meanwhile, singer-songwriter Timur Flores will appear on 8 March at 2PM, serenading visitors with soulful melodies perfect for the Raya mood.

Throughout the campaign, shoppers can also enjoy a line-up of traditional dance, music and cultural performances, making each visit to the mall a lively and festive experience.

Discover Arts, Crafts & Cultural Workshops

Beyond the decorations, visitors can immerse themselves in Malaysian heritage through a variety of arts and craft experiences. The Arts & Craft Market by Kraftangan Malaysia takes place every weekend from 27 February to 19 March, showcasing handmade crafts and traditional artisanal products.

Those looking for a more hands-on experience can participate in the Bengkel Kreativiti Seni workshops held daily. Activities include crafting Wayang Kulit puppets, batik and labu painting, mosaic coaster making, and mini rattan art. Visitors can also witness demonstrations of songket weaving and learn the traditional art of tanjak-making, offering a deeper appreciation for the craftsmanship behind Malay cultural heritage.

Raya Rewards & Festive Treats

Of course, no festive celebration is complete without special rewards and treats for shoppers.

With Pesona Syawal Rewards, shoppers who spend RM500 can redeem Raya gifts including a cushion, a serving platter and a RM50 ONECARD shopping voucher. HSBC credit cardholders can enjoy additional rewards such as a RM20 ONECARD Gift Card with a minimum spend of RM500, or a canister with a minimum spend of RM1000.

Those breaking fast during the month can also enjoy Jom Buka Puasa with ONECARD, where shoppers spending RM50 at selected participating F&B outlets can receive a complimentary treat along with 50 UPoints.

Meanwhile, festive shoppers browsing online at ONESHOP.com.my can receive exclusive Raya goodies such as a floral-printed thermos bottle or a ceramic tea set with qualifying purchases.

Celebrate the Beauty of Syawal

With its kampung-inspired setting, cultural activities and festive entertainment, Indahnya Syawal @ 1 Utama beautifully captures the warmth and traditions of Raya. Whether it’s exploring heritage crafts, enjoying live performances, or simply admiring the stunning décor, the celebration offers a meaningful way for families and friends to gather and soak in the festive spirit.

For many Malaysians, visiting mall decorations has become a cherished part of the festive season — and this year, Indahnya Syawal promises a Raya experience that is both nostalgic and vibrant, right in the heart of the city.
