PJ Comedy Fest 2026 Brings Five Days of Laughter, Culture and Creativity to Petaling Jaya

Comedy lovers are in for an unforgettable experience this August as DeStage @ Jaya One and KAM Productionspresent PJ Comedy Fest 2026 — the first-of-its-kind multi-language, multi-genre comedy festival celebrating Malaysia’s diverse comedy landscape.

Over five exciting nights, audiences can look forward to a dynamic showcase featuring 9 unique shows, 28 comedians, 11 teen performers, and more than 30 performers across two performance spaces — the Studio and Main Hall. From stand-up comedy and improv to storytelling sessions, gala showcases and theatre performances, PJ Comedy Fest promises a variety of entertainment experiences designed to keep audiences laughing from start to finish.

A key highlight of the festival is its celebration of Malaysia’s multicultural identity. Featuring performances in English, Malay, Chinese and Tamil, PJ Comedy Fest brings together diverse comedic voices and styles, reflecting the richness and creativity of Malaysia’s entertainment scene.

The festival features an exciting line-up of some of the country’s most talented comedians, including Joanne Kam, Kavin Jay, Shamaine Othman, Andrew Netto, Rizal Van Geyzel, Farid Azmeir, K-Shao, Jasmine Rajah, Brian Tan, Prakash Daniel, Keren Bala Devan, as well as the renowned improv troupe Pinball Monkeys.

Designed for audiences aged 18 and above, PJ Comedy Fest is more than just a comedy showcase — it is a celebration of laughter, creativity and community, bringing people together through the universal joy of humour while highlighting the unique voices that make Malaysia’s comedy scene thrive.

Adding a special family-friendly highlight to the festival, EM Drama Production will present A Rendition of A Midsummer Night’s Dream on Sunday, 2 August. This special teen theatre production invites younger audiences and adults to enjoy a fresh interpretation of Shakespeare’s timeless comedy, with performances suitable for children aged 7 and above, as well as adults. With performances scheduled at 11.00am and 3.00pm, the showcase is expected to be a delightful addition to the festival, demonstrating that comedy extends beyond stand-up and improv into the world of theatre.
