Singapore, pop singer/songwriter Mika Hashizume is stepping into the spotlight with the debut of his solo career and the release of his latest EP, ‘bleached.’ The EP’s soulful lead track, “So I Don’t Forget,” blends R&B flavors and alternative elements and was produced by GRAMMY-nominated producer Patrick “J.Que” Smith, known for co-writing Joji’s “Die For You.”

“So I Don’t Forget” creates a drifting atmosphere with a nostalgic essence and a fleeting worldview that appeals not only to music enthusiasts but also to those connected to Western music culture. During the initial stages of crafting the EP, Mika aimed for each song to represent styles and genres he fell in love with on his songwriting journey. The title and theme, ‘bleached,’ encapsulate the transformative moments in his career.

Reflecting on the creative process, MIKA shares that despite facing challenges, the EP visually captures the beautiful yet painful period of his life. With a track record of pushing boundaries in recording and live performances worldwide, MIKA showcased his international appeal with captivating performances on the popular program “Drama’s Catchy Songs 2023” on Youku, ranking on major music charts.

In 2023, MIKA headlined the TMEA Music Festival, sharing the stage with esteemed artists. Beyond his musical prowess, MIKA’s distinctive fashion sense has earned him features on prestigious publications and brand partnerships with Bottega Veneta, Tiffany & Co, Tom Ford, YSL, and more.

The new EP ‘bleached’ draws inspiration from MIKA’s diverse upbringing in Hawaii, Tokyo, and Beijing, marking a new chapter in his solo endeavors. With a significant fan base across Asia, MIKA has become a sensation in streaming markets worldwide.

Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, MIKA began his music career in 2016, joining the group INTERSECTION in Tokyo. After breaking through the Chinese music market on “CHUANG 2021,” MIKA made his debut with the group INTO1, releasing albums in both Mandarin and English. Now, after five years of global exploration, MIKA is set to make his solo artist debut in 2023, presenting ‘bleached’ as a culmination of his immersive musical journey and introspective world.
