“Beyond,” Moana 2’s End Credit Song, Now Streaming Ahead of Film Release

Walt Disney Animation Studios and Disney Music Group have unveiled “Beyond,” the end credit track from the much-anticipated animated musical Moana 2. Written by Grammy® Award-winning duo Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, the song is now available on all streaming platforms, giving fans a taste of the magic awaiting them in theaters this November.

“Beyond” captures the adventurous spirit of Moana, reflecting her deep connection to her Polynesian heritage and her fearless drive to explore beyond the horizon. Barlow & Bear, known for their musical storytelling, collaborated closely with individuals from Oceania to authentically convey the cultural depth and wayfinding traditions that define Moana’s journey.

“During the process of writing this, we spoke to many people from Oceania and the Polynesian Islands,” the duo shared. “What rings true to all of them is their deep connection to their heritage and how they honor their ancestors. No matter how daunting this journey is to Moana, she can’t refuse it. It scares her but also exhilarates her because it’s a call from the ancestors. And the idea that the ocean connects us all is a very big part of Pacific Island culture and wayfinding culture.”

Fans can also pre-order the Moana 2 Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, available in multiple formats. Vinyl editions are available for pre-order at Amazon, Disney Music Emporium, Target, and Walmart, while CD editions can be pre-ordered at Amazon, Disney Music Emporium, and Target, with a release date set for November 22.

The soundtrack brings together an award-winning lineup of composers, including returning talents Opetaia Foa‘i and Mark Mancina, who were instrumental in creating the unforgettable music of the original Moana. Their work on the 2016 soundtrack earned acclaim worldwide, with hits like “You’re Welcome” and “How Far I’ll Go” garnering over 20 billion streams globally.

The original Moana soundtrack’s success includes highlights such as Dwayne Johnson’s platinum-certified performance of “You’re Welcome”, which has become DisneyMusic VEVO’s most-watched video with over 1.6 billion views, and Auli‘i Cravalho’s “How Far I’ll Go”, which was RIAA® certified seven times platinum and earned Oscar® and Golden Globe® nominations.
